This section of the mural shows picnics and children playing in woods near Macklin Road to celebrate the Coronation in 1953, representing Salisbury’s long tradition of open air celebrations. There are some children shown in fancy dress, taken from photos, and hidden in the scene are various items of local royal memorabilia.
