The original Salisbury Giant and Hobnob, regulars at celebrations since the 1500s, made their final open air appearance in front of crowds in the Market Square for the Silver Jubilee in 1977. Today they can be found in the Salisbury and South Wiltshire Museum in the Cathedral Close, and modern replicas take their place in public events. The children in this and other scenes have been taken from original photos of various Salisbury celebrations.
There is more about the Jubilee celebrations in our “Events” section.
